Informatie over het bedrijf
At Mercure Amsterdam City, sustainability is an integral part of our daily operations and long-term vision. In September 2023, we proudly obtained our first Green Key certification, and within the same year we advanced to Green Key Gold — the highest level within the programme. This achievement reflects our continuous commitment to improving and innovating in responsible hospitality.
We actively work to reduce our environmental impact by sourcing locally produced ingredients for our kitchens, lowering COâ‚‚ emissions and supporting regional farmers. With the help of advanced systems such as Orbisk, we monitor and reduce food waste, while our partnership with Too Good To Go ensures surplus food is given a second life.
Guests are encouraged to contribute through initiatives like our Skip the Clean program, reducing water and chemical usage. We also minimize single-use plastics with refillable toiletries throughout the hotel.
Innovative solutions such as KRNWTR+ provide sustainable drinking water, and our Dripdrop umbrellas made from recycled plastic bottles — support reforestation, as we plant a tree for every umbrella rented.
Together, these initiatives demonstrate our dedication to creating a greener, more responsible hospitality experience.
